Welcome Spanish Club SCW is a Chartered Social Club organized in 1983 by residents interested in sharing the enjoyment of the Spanish language and culture. Many club members are learning Spanish for the first time. Other members have become quite comfortable speaking Spanish. The Spanish classes and conversation groups offered by the club are a fun way to learn something new. . . and keep one’s brain active! The Spanish Club has several wonderful fiestas each year. The Holiday Fiesta is held in December, the Valentine’s Fiesta in February, and our Fiesta de Primavera (Spring Fiesta ) is in April. We continue to follow Rec Center oversight with regards to COVID in our language classes and events. Please feel free to wear a mask as you deem necessary when attending our various functions. Remember: Membership is required by the end of day on January 15th of any calendar year according to club by-laws in order to participate in all Spanish Club functions for that Calendar Year including Language Classes and Fiestas. Starting April 3 and continuing through Mid-September Classes The Spanish Club offers Spanish Language classes at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels starting in October of each year at the Beardsley Recreation Center. Some of the classes will focus on conversation, others on introducing all aspects of the language and some on more advanced verbs and grammar.
